Bay Logistics, Inc., is seeking a Maintenance Apprentice for our warehouses in the Detroit and Flint, MI Areas. The Apprentice will be working under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager and will need an understanding of basic construction techniques, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, industrial equipment. Duties/Responsibilities:
- This is a hands-on position.
- Doing routine and preventative maintenance at requested facility.
- Helping respond to emergency maintenance requests.
- Help with patching and painting.
- Follow directions from the Maintenance Manager on minor repairs.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in repairing miscellaneous electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry issues as well as installing new.
- Effectively and safely operate standard maintenance tools including power tools, hand tools and testing equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance from daily up to semi-annually.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow safety rules and regulations as well as other departmental policies and procedures. Help further develop and improve proper safety techniques.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to follow instructions from Maintenance Manager.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Valid License with clean MVR Required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
