Location: Franklin, NC
POSITION: Clinic Staff – Part Time with full-time potential
RESPONSIBLE TO: Practice Managers, Mid-Level Providers, and Physicians

Primary responsibility will be to greet patients as they arrive, check them in/out of appointments, collect co-pays and balances due, take vitals, and room patients. Additionally, your will validate patient demographic and insurance information, answer the phone, schedule follow-up visits and procedures, and maintain accurate EMR data.
- Franklin clinic will be the primary site, but may also support our other offices (e.g. Clyde).
- This position has availability for either part-time (3 - 4 days / week, from 8am – 5pm) or full time, but has the potential to become full-time (with benefits and vacation).
- You will have your nights, weekends, and holidays off.
- Pay dependent upon experience and skills.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school degree required
- CMA certificate desirable but not required if candidate has previous clinical experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least one year of experience in clinical setting preferred
- Reception experience in Healthcare preferred, but not required
- Medical Insurance/Billing experience preferred, but not required
- Excellent customer service and communication skills required
- Must be reliable, able to prioritize and multi-task effectively
- Takes initiative and ownership, and can work independently
- Knowledge of required software (will train) including EMR and Microsoft office apps; comfortable using email and interacting with internet applications
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Covid vaccination required
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Clinical & Administrative Support
- Create a welcoming environment & establish positive relationships by greeting patients (and answering the phone) with a smile
- Check patients in for their appointments, verify information and insurance benefits, collect co-pays and balances due
- Responsible for patient vitals, rooming and history taking
- Properly notifies physicians/mid-level providers if there are problems that need to be addressed
- Completes appropriate documentation in patient’s EMR according to meaningful use standards
- Check patients out, including scheduling additional appointments
- Answer the phone in a timely & professional manner, addressing patient questions/concerns or relaying messages as necessary.
- Advises clinical coordinator or administrative assistant of any items that need to be reordered including medications that have been used and medical supplies needed in clinic area
- Maintains a proper, safe, and clean work environment
- Performs all other duties, tasks, and projects as assigned by the clinical coordinator, management, and physicians/mid-level providers
Other
- Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
- Attends CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, and OIG training programs as required by the practice
- Attends all regular office meetings
Typical Physical Demands
Position requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Normal visual acuity is required to be able to visualize a computer screen for vital patient information for long periods of time and to draw up critical and appropriate medication for administration. Normal hearing is required. Involves extensive standing and walking is required. Employee will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
Typical Working Condition
Majority of work is performed in clinic area, but occasional administration in exam rooms may be necessary. Environment will be usually noisy and busy. Work load will be heavy most of time due to high patient volume. Will train. Team focused working environment.
