National Accounts Executive
Job description
The National Accounts Executive is responsible for representing the National Account Department by interacting with established National/Regional Accounts and developing new National/Regional Account programs. This position requires a broad knowledge of the organization's products, services, and marketing techniques. An Edward Don & Company National Account Executive shall follow the course of highest integrity and adhere to the Company's Standards of Conduct in his/her business relationships at all times. Intermittent travel is required and will be based on the needs of the business. Up to 25% travel required.
This position reports to a Director of National Accounts and works closely with other members of the National Accounts Team to identify and communicate new selling opportunities within the account group. This position interacts regularly with other internal business units including but not limited to Street Sales, Finance, Credit, Operations, and Purchasing. The National Accounts Executive is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with internal and external business units as well as outside customers, vendors, and suppliers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Calls on established National and Regional Accounts to introduce, monitor, and enhance program compliance and growth
- Conducts meetings with first level managers on a regular basis to review each account
- Keeps informed on new products, pricing, and other general program and industry information
- Acts as a consultant to provide advice and guidance to customers with regard to their program requirements
- Ensures proper service and follow-up on all customer accounts
- Displays and demonstrates product, using samples and catalogs to emphasize features and benefits where applicable, and within program parameters
- Reviews receivables for all accounts and resolves any credit/collections issues with the Corporate National Accounts Credit Department and/or Distribution Center Credit Department
- Ensures accurate pricing per program parameters
- Maintains daily contact with internal departments, customers, factory representatives, and other outside sources
- Reports on current activities and matters concerning assigned National/Regional accounts to the National Area Manager(s) and National Account Managers on a regular basis
- Keeps accurate and up-to-date records and reports on all phases of activities
- Checks on competitive activity
- Keeps Manager informed both verbally and in writing of issues within area of assigned responsibility
- Escalates issues beyond scope of authority to appropriate parties
- Performs other duties as assigned
External Qualifications :Required minimum knowledge, skills, education/training, experience,
and physical obligations:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution
plus a minimum of 4 years of applicable professional work experience OR High
School Diploma or GED equivalent plus a minimum of 8 years of applicable professional
work experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritize,
work within assigned deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively to
accomplish organizational objectives
- Intermediate
to advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel,
Word, and PowerPoint)
- Highly
detail oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
while maintaining quality & accuracy standards
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to foster strong, open lines of communication across all
levels of the organization
- Ability to adhere to Edward Don & Company’s Standards of Conduct Policy
Preferred minimum knowledge, skills, education/training, experience,
and physical obligations:
- Bachelors Degree in Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, Business, or
Organizational Communication is preferred
- Previous knowledge and experience working with foodservice &
equipment product lines and categories is highly preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
