Job description

The Paper Machine Superintendent is responsible for establishing a safe work environment, ensuring efficient production, all while maintaining optimum quality. Responsible for driving continuous improvement to manage the day-to-day operations and managing a cost-effective operation.

Experienced in leading and coaching a team of shift supervisors and hourly employees in a manufacturing environment to maintain safe and efficient work practices.

Monitor paper machine operations through a combination of hands-on capabilities and strong computer skills utilizing Word, Excel, Power Point and One Note.

Monitor product quality on a regular basis to address deviations from prescribed order specifications and drive corrective action on a timely basis to minimize down time.

Assist in tracking and planning for required equipment upkeep and working with the Maintenance Department to ensure required maintenance needs are met.

Experience implementing and ensuring compliance with safety goals, PPE, and safety related procedures to ensure a safe and environmentally conscious workplace.

Experience scheduling and working with crews while being flexible managing all aspects of paper machine operations.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree Paper Science Engineering or other Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred.

· Five years of machine supervisory experience in paper production or equivalent.

· Strong communication skills (Both Written and Verbal)

· Personable, willing to learn, and successful working in a team environment. The ability to work within all levels of team members from operators, engineers, and millwrights is essential.

· Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and strong problem-solving skills required. The ability to recognize and pursue opportunities within the operation is critical for continued success of the operation.

· Possess ambulatory capabilities to move freely about the Mill, ascend and descend ladders and stairways. A degree of mechanical aptitude and hands on ability is essential for managing this type of operation.

·Pay dependent on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
