Director of Structural Engineering – Kubala Engineers, a PBK family company

We are seeking an experienced professional to serve as Director of Structural Engineering to join our team in California. In this position, you will be a key member of the leadership team of structural engineering services for PBK’s California operations. You will regularly interact with PBK’s senior architectural management and prospective external clients and oversee project team performance and overall client satisfaction.

Your Impact:

• Establish divisional goals and growth strategies that will allow the structural engineering division to serve all PBK offices
• Maintain a strong culture of client service and innovation within the structural group that is modeled after PBK’s core ideologies
• Ensure that all projects are subjected to a thorough QA/QC review process
• Participate in all state-wide strategic planning sessions with top California leadership
• Monitor project performance standards, accountability, and efficiency
• Manage the financial performance of the division with respect to staffing and profitability
• Collaborate with the HR department to establish a plan of action to attract top-level talent

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• S.E. in the State of California
• 15 years of professional experience in engineering, including management experience
• Extension experience working with the Division of State Architects
• Client-oriented personality
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills

This role has the flexibility to work from one of the following office locations: San Diego, Rancho Cucamonga, Los Angeles, Folsom, Berkeley, or Fresno.

The actual offered base salary for California locations will vary depending on factors such as work location, individual qualifications, education, specializations, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role will be at or near the top half of the range provided, but the decision will be dependent on the factors of each individual case. The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $185,000. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation in the form of discretionary bonuses in addition to base salary and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
