Small Business/Consumer Science Teacher - 1.0 Teacher
Founding teacher for a program in small business and marketing. Program operates two student-run enterprises in the newly built Arlington High School, a school cafe/store and a school print center (aka, smartlab). The program will work with students in electives focusing on project-based learning in an enterprise setting. Position will collaborate with the high school Special Education Transition Coordinator on developing work skills programs.
Preferred Knowledge and Skill
Knowledge and experience in culinary and food service, customer service or small business.
Serve safe training
Experience working with high school age special education and general education students
Experience working in internship, work study, or vocational education
Certification
Relevant teacher certification required for running a work-based educational program (For example: Family and Consumer Science, Business, Economics, or Special Education)
The 2023-2024 work year begins August 30, 2023. New teachers, however, are required to attend several days of orientation and curriculum planning meetings during the last two weeks of August.
