Description
Queens Animal Health is currently seeking a part-time/full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will be passionate, and detail-oriented with at least one year of previous veterinary experience. We are looking for an individual with a humble demeanor, team-building behavior, a strong technical skill set, and the ability to handle situations with confidence and put their patients' needs first. Someone who communicates with a smile and understands the importance of client education. The ideal candidate will be confident rooming patients, assisting in surgery, placing IV catheters, drawing blood and running bloodwork, have experience with in-clinic laboratory equipment, knowledge of x-ray and proper positioning, comfortable with proper animal handling and restraint, and is a positive and supportive team player. The veterinary industry is constantly advancing and Queens Animal Health supports its staff to do the same. Requirements:
- 2+ years prior veterinary experience
- Knowledge of standard industry tools and equipment
- Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
- Experience in proper animal handling and restraint
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Positive team player willing to continue to learn
