Element has an opportunity for a
Metallurgical Technician to safely perform work in accordance with established SOP and QA procedures in conducting Material and Metallurgical Testing within the laboratory.
In this position you will be responsible for summarizing the test results using mathematical calculations and data reductions. The position will also be responsible for maintaining related test equipment, tools and machinery in good working condition.

Responsibilities:
- Preparation of test samples by sectioning with precision abrasive saws and mounting/grinding/polishing of specimens
- Hardness testing; Rockwell, Vickers, Knoop
- Macro and micro photography
- Basic metallurgical testing; coating thickness, case depth, etc
- Associates degree or better in the field of Metallurgy or similar preferred
- 1-2 years in the Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) sector is preferred, but not required
- Experience working with with printed circuit boards (PCB) is desired
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with only limited standardization
