Job Description:
An individual who assists in laboratory, research, or analytical work under direction or supervision of scientific personnel. Operates highly technical experimental apparatus. May direct and train technicians of lower grade. Has understanding of the theoretical aspects of the experiments. Has demonstrated outstanding skill and performance in the particular field of activity. Requires little or no supervision.Candidate will work in class 10 clean room of the Microelectronics Laboratory supporting a broad range of activities in the Advanced Technology Division developing devices of importance to national defense and economic security interests. Candidate will need to monitor, prioritize, and process all work-in-progress (WIP) within assigned process responsibility areas, learn and reliably execute procedures and methods, and provide clear and accurate inter-shift pass-down of such work. The goal of this position is to produce completed wafers with excellent quality and low cycle time. Additional responsibilities shall include but not be limited to: Perform SPC tasks and monitor and respond appropriately to data, interface with Program Originators on research projects and support the development of new processes and/or routine maintenance as required. This role requires a willing and reliable learner of, and contributor to, established procedures, with faithful execution for our sponsoring program benefit. Successful performance requires a balance of productivity and recognizing reliable self-capability or when to seek help. After training, candidate must be able to work with little or no supervision. Must quickly understand the theoretical aspects of the assigned responsibilities. Must have demonstrated outstanding skill and performance in their experienced field(s) of activity
Qualifications:
Graduation from a two-year technical school or its equivalent and a minimum of five years formal training in electronics, semiconductor fabrication or chemistry is required.
Experience:
- Candidate should have at least five years’ experience operating semiconductor processing equipment in a wafer fabrication facility or equipment and processing of similar complexity
- Previous experience in photolithography, wet and dry etch, thin films, diffusion, CMP, or ion implant is sought
- Knowledge of metrology tools such as spectroscopic ellipsometers, optical and scanning-electron microscopes, and surface particle counters are beneficial.
- Prior work within an established quality management system is preferred

- Candidate should be well organized, detail oriented, and able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Candidate should be able to follow process instructions accurately and consistently.
- This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work as part of a team in an evolving environment
- Preferred candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a solid work ethic.
- Candidate must possess good written and verbal communication skills
- The candidate will help document tool operation via Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Reliability (attendance)
- Operate a variety of semiconductor processing equipment.
- Understand equipment operation and be able to identify potential problems with the equipment through observation and to escalate resolution to the next leve
- Learn newly installed tools and devleoped process.
